Rameshwaram is one of the famous pilgrim destinations in India. The site is based in the district of Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu. The place has also one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. It is believed that this holy place had been built by Lord Rama. The temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, the supreme deity.  The temple had been built in the seventeenth century which attracts different sects of Hinduism ranging from Vaishnavite to Shiva.  The part of the temple is believed that it had been built by Lord Rama himself and that is why the temple is regarded as the most pious in Rameshwaram.  This temple has also the longest temple corridor in the world that is around 200 metres long and 140 metres broad. The temple is bedecked with 1200 granite columns.  The temple is a must visit temple if one is eager to experience the magnificence of Rameshwaram temples.
